Founded in 1870, the the Wyoming Military Department's goal is to provide a trained, quality-based force, supported by appropriate equipment, technology, facilities and real property, and services to successfully execute state and federal missions. We maintain a force of highly trained infantry, artillery, engineering, medical, helicopter-aviation, communications, and transportation units, with armories all over the state that are ready to answer the call at a moments notice. We're dedicated to the service and protection of the cities and citizens of the Great State of Wyoming, and of this Great Nation, and we always will be.
Infantrymen are expected to perform as a member of a fire team during drills and combat, aid in the mobilization of vehicles, troops and weaponry, assist in reconnaissance missions, process prisoners of war and captured documents, and use, maintain and store combat weapons (e.g., rifles, machine guns, antitank mines, etc.).
Health Care Specialists are expected to administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties, assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment, prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis, and prepare patients, operating rooms, equipment and supplies for surgery.
UH-60 Helicopter Repairmen are expected to remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions and mechanical flight controls, service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems, prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks, and assist in diagnosing/troubleshooting of the aircraft.
