North Carolina
National Guard

The North Carolina Army National Guard is a military force comprised of citizen Soldiers sworn to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the state of North Carolina. We trace our heritage back to the 1663 Carolina Charter.  In recent years, the NCARNG has reshaped itself in a process known as “Transformation."  This transformation has changed the Guard’s focus and structure from that of a strategic reserve to a modern operational force. As requirements evolve, The NCARNG continues to posture itself for success in meeting future mission requirements, while accomplishing current missions, by remaining relevant and ready.  You’ll get a lot out of serving in the National Guard.  In addition to the pride of serving your Country and community, you’ll learn career skills from one of 150 jobs, a paycheck, and receive educational opportunities and benefits you can’t get anywhere else.
